The Alvaro Valles transfer saga has been rumbling on throughout the summer, and with less than a week to go until summer window closes, he is still no closer to joining Real Betis. Las Palmas are determined to not let him leave below their valuation, despite the real threat of losing him for nothing in 2025.
Betis will only look to sign Valles if Rui Silva, their current number one goalkeeper, leaves the club. So far, there has been insufficient interest in his services, but that could be about to change.
According to BeSoccer (via ED), Benfica have made a move to bring Silva back to Portugal. A loan offer was submitted, although Betis turned that down as they will only entertain a permanent transfer – this would raise the funds necessary to pay for Valles’ move.
The expectation is that Benfica will return with a new offer next week. €6-8m would be accepted by Betis, who would immediately use the money to bring Valles back to the Benito Villamarin.
