Benfica intend to keep Richard Ríos for 2026/27, despite strong European interest, according to Glorioso 1904.
The Colombian remains highly valued after featuring off the bench in Colombia’s World Cup opener, a win over Uzbekistan. He is regarded internally as essential as the club look to retain their core for next season.
The hierarchy have made clear that not all players are on the market. Missing the Champions League will require some efforts, but the plan is to keep the core and make small adjustments.
Even so, bids will be considered only if they reach irresistible levels. Signed from Palmeiras for 27 million euros at the start of last season, Ríos is only likely to leave for more than 35 million. Napoli lead the interest as they assess options to replace Zambo Anguissa, with Inter Milan also monitoring.
At 26, Ríos ended the campaign in fine form with eight goals and six assists in 45 appearances, the best numbers of his career. In May he expressed a desire to remain at Benfica, praising the club and hoping to help win more titles.
