Benfica, Porto and Sporting renew B-team registrations, Braga and Vitória de Guimarães follow

Benfica have renewed their B-team registration with the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional for 2026/27 and 2027/28. Porto and Sporting have also secured the continuity of their reserve sides in league competitions.
The league confirmed the decisions in a statement. All three currently compete in Liga Portugal 2 Meu Super.
Benfica B and Porto B have played uninterrupted in the second tier since 2012/13, when B teams returned to professional competitions.
Sporting B returned to the division this season after being relegated in 2017/18.
Braga and Vitória de Guimarães have also renewed their B-team registrations. Both sides are in Liga 3, and have registered in case of promotion in the coming seasons.
The Minho pair were part of the 2012/13 reintroduction of B teams to the II Liga. Braga B stayed seven straight seasons, while Vitória de Guimarães B returned in 2014/15 and remained until relegation in the same season as Braga B.
