This follows Benfica’s activity in the market, with the club close to signing Samu Costa from Mallorca, a player regularly called up by Portugal.

Ríos joined Benfica from Palmeiras in July last year, in a deal worth €30 million, around R$ 194 million at the time.

Palmeiras received 70 percent, roughly R$ 135.8 million, while the remainder was divided between Benfica at 10 percent, Guarani at 13.4 percent and Flamengo at 6.6 percent.

Ríos spent 2020 to 2022 with Flamengo, signed initially for the academy then promoted to the first team. He made seven appearances, was loaned to Mazatlán, then moved to Guarani.

Flamengo, Ríos’s former club, face Coritiba at Maracanã on Saturday 30 at 16:00 Brasília time in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
