According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica have revived their pursuit of Georgian winger Zuriko Davitashvili of Saint-Étienne, a January target. The Lisbon club are in negotiations and the fee could be between 12 and 15 million euros.
The move should advance once the new head coach approves, with Marco Silva emerging as the leading candidate for the role. Davitashvili is among Benfica’s leading summer targets to bolster the attack.
He was first linked in February, when Benfica retained interest. A summer plan included meetings with his representative about a possible transfer.
The winger fits the profile sought, notably his capacity to operate in multiple attacking roles. In January, the presence of Schjelderup, Prestianni, Bruma and Lukebakio led the club to postpone signing another wide player, but the picture has since shifted.
In 2025/26 for Saint-Étienne, Davitashvili has played 33 official matches, 30 in Ligue 2, two in the Ligue 1-2 play-off and one in the Coupe de France. Across 2,484 minutes he has scored 16 goals and provided five assists. He is valued at 12 million euros.
