Benfica have completed the loan signing of Jhon Duran from Al-Nassr for the 2026-27 season, with terms agreed and the Colombian outlining his aims.
The club said in a statement that Benfica will pay €6.1 million for the loan, and the agreement includes an option to buy at the end of the campaign for €30 million.
Duran expressed gratitude, called Benfica the biggest club in Portugal, and set high expectations for himself. He vowed to play well, give everything and chase trophies, adding that he will work hard to help the team.
He broke through at Envigado before joining Chicago Fire, then moved to Aston Villa in January 2023. Al-Nassr later signed him in a €77 million deal, followed by loans at Fenerbahce and Zenit.
The 22-year-old has 17 caps and three goals for Colombia. He now begins pre-season under head coach Marco Silva, and his performances this season will help determine any end-of-season decision on his future.
