Benfica said in a statement it will lodge a formal complaint with the Portuguese Football Federation over the treatment of its supporters at Estádio do Dragão, calling the conduct absolutely unacceptable, blaming FC Porto’s security staff and arguing such behaviour has become routine on their visits.
Supporters were required to remove their shoes on a wet floor, a check not set out in any regulation.

The process was humiliating.
Elderly fans were among those affected.
Delays, described as deliberate, left many reaching their seats only after the second half had begun.
