Benfica ‘to sign’ Cléber de Souza after beating Barcelona

According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica are poised to beat Barcelona to Brazilian international Cléber de Souza, in what could be their first futsal signing for 2026/27.

The Eagles are said to have moved ahead in the race and should now finalise the deal. Cléber is viewed as a replacement for Igor, who is set to join Barcelona at the end of the season.

The report added that Higor was secured by the Catalans on 17 March, while Benfica overtook them for Cléber with an offer the Brazilian considered irresistible.

Barcelona, on learning Cléber would not join, advanced a renewal with one of their current players and are not planning his departure.

Benfica are also assessing further options for next season, with Anderson Fortes of Leões de Porto Salvo and Rúben Góis of Rio Ave linked in the domestic press.
