A Bola, citing Polish media, reports Benfica have closed their pursuit of Marcel Regula after Rui Costa declined to meet Zaglebie Lubin’s terms, with a 10 million euros price viewed as too high.

Weszlo.com considers the move highly unlikely. The outlet also says the 19-year-old forward is expected to leave Poland, with destinations other than Portugal in view.

Regula has been among the standout young performers in the Polish top flight this season.

This season for Zaglebie Lubin, Regula, valued at seven million euros, has played 28 competitive matches, 27 in the league and one in the Polish Cup, totalling 1,915 minutes.

He has scored seven goals and provided three assists. Benfica are considering other attacking options for 2026/27.
