Benfica Women sign 24-year-old centre-back Demehin from Galatasaray on deal to 2029 | OneFootball

Benfica Women have signed Nigerian centre-back Demehin, 24, from Galatasaray on a three-year deal to 2029. She joins compatriot Janet Akekoromowei.

She moved to France in 2022 to join Stade de Reims, then continued her career in Türkiye.

A Nigeria international, she featured at the 2023 World Cup and was part of the squad at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In 2025, she was crowned African champion as Nigeria won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Viewed as a potential successor to Carole Costa alongside Diana Gomes in central defence, she will wear number 4 for Micael Sequeira’s side.
