Benni McCarthy's Kenya suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Equatorial Guinea in Antalya, Turkey on Friday evening.

Guinea scored through Josete Miranda's penalty on the stroke of half time and it was enough to secure a victory as they held firm for the remainder of the game.

The defeat is likely to frustrate Kenyan legend Dennis Oliech, who questioned McCarthy's decision to omit captain Michael Olunga from the latest squad.

However, Vasili Manousakis, Kenya's second in command, clarified that Olunga was left out in a bid to afford him a rest due to an overloaded program in the Qatar Stars League with Al Arabi.

Meanwhile, Kenya will face Senegal in their final international friendly match on Tuesday, 18 November.
