Benoît Tavenot faces Friday’s trip to Marseille with a stretched midfield and says he could be forced to risk one of his doubtful players. Kick-off is 21:05 in the 29th round, with Metz bottom of Ligue 1.

According to L'Équipe, only Jessy Deminguet is fully available. Believe Munongo, Benjamin Stambouli, Boubacar Traoré and Alpha Touré are all uncertain. Aged 16, Munongo has featured in 8 Ligue 1 matches this season, starting 4.

Tavenot said on Wednesday that Munongo’s knee was swollen and he could not train, adding they hope for improvement on Thursday. Stambouli has completed two sessions with the group after eight weeks out, having missed seven matches because of a fractured rib then an ankle issue.

Touré has also returned to training but feels pain when striking the ball, which remains problematic. Traoré is working properly, though he must undergo a check on Thursday before any decision is made.

The coach admitted he has no clear visibility and that all four remain doubtful, adding that, if necessary, one might be pushed to play. He also noted that striker Joseph Mangondo is still not ready, and young midfielder Ismaël Guerti is likewise short.
