A dilapidated and depleted looking Real Madrid side will take to the field against Getafe tomorrow evening at the Alfredo de Stefano Stadium.
Zinedine Zidane will heading into this fixture with just 12 first-team players at his disposal. The likes of Rodrygo, Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Federico Valverde and Lucas Vasquez are all ruled out of the fixture with injuries. Additionally, Eder Militao and Alvaro Odriozola have not trained with the team and are expected to be out for this game.
Toni Kroos will also remain absent after amassing 5 yellow cards for the season in the Primera Division. Here’s how the Whites could line up against Getafe with all the issues at hand.
Thibaut Courtois will start between the sticks for Real Madrid at the Alfredo De Stefano Stadium. The Belgian made a decisive save against Huesca that ultimately saved the day for Zidane’s side. With a makeshift backline ahead of him, Courtois would have to be on his heels at all times.
Ferland Mendy will be deployed on the right hand side in the absence of Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola. Raphael Varane will lead the back four and Nacho Fernandez will be his most likely partner. Marcelo will be given the go ahead for this fixture at the left-back slot.
Luka Modric will be Zidane’s most trusted man in midfield on Tuesday evening. The Croatian midfielder will have to weave something special from the centre of the pitch to take the Whites across the line against a robust-looking Getafe side. The absence of Sergio Ramos in defence will certainly burden Casemiro with additional defensive duties.
Casemiro will want to keep things as compact at the back as possible. Marco Asensio will be deployed in midfield this time around with the side being crippled with injuries. The calmness and composure of Toni Kroos will be missed by the out of sorts team.
Karim Benzema will have an outing once again alongside Mariano. The two strikers have not linked up well in the past and will want to change things on Tuesday evening at the Valdebebas. Benzema is the side’s top goalscorer this season, and all eyes will be glued on him against Getafe.
Vinicius Jr will start on the left-hand side of the attacking duo and will play slightly behind them. The Brazilian speedster will want to make up for all the recent blunders of his and cement his place in the side with yet another injury to Eden Hazard.
