Benzema out as Al-Hilal suffer fresh injury blow before Al-Taawoun

Al-Hilal have suffered a late setback hours before facing Al-Taawoun, with Karim Benzema ruled out through injury. The club said in a post that the French forward will not be in the squad.

The issue is a toe injury.

Benzema joined during the recent winter transfer window but has struggled for fitness, missing the previous two matches against Al-Taawoun and Al-Shabab.

He has played in six matches for Al-Hilal, scoring five and providing two assists. His fitness problems have prompted debate over a possible chronic issue.

Al-Hilal are also without captain Salem Al-Dossari and new French winger Simon Boubari.
