Real Madrid’s dressing room has largely had a great campaign at the FIFA World Cup so far, but there are also several of the club’s new signings who are in action at the event.
Marc Cucurella, who has starred for Spain as a starter, has spoken multiple times about his move to Real Madrid and has already got the fans pumped with some controversial comments.
Bernardo Silva, who also joined the club this summer and is at the World Cup, however, has been more reserved and silent about the club-level transfer, likely out of respect for the objective he currently has in hand.
The new Real Madrid player spoke to the media ahead of Portugal’s Round of 32 clash against Croatia in what comes as his first official interview as a Real Madrid star.
He was, unsurprisingly, asked about his club-level transfer and what he felt about joining Los Blancos, but the player made it very clear that he was committed only to his country at this point.

“I’m not going to answer questions about Real Madrid. I’m in a context that is too important to focus on something else,” he said, as quoted by AS.
Yet, he took a moment to share his feelings and happiness over the completed transfer and the excitement he had to get started under Jose Mourinho after the World Cup.
“I’m happy, but I’m focused on the national team. The next few weeks will be dedicated exclusively to the national team.”
Portugal have played three games at the ongoing FIFA World Cup so far, and Silva has played a part in two of the three matches.
He played 45 minutes in the team’s opener against the Democratic Republic of Congo, and then came off the bench for a 14-minute cameo in the team’s 5-0 demolition of Uzbekistan.

Surprisingly, however, he had no involvement in the draw against Colombia which was the most difficult of the three games, and his non-participation could have more to do with the manager’s unclear idea rather than his underperformance.
In fact, the player even clarified during the interview that the lack of minutes does not bother him.
“It’s not very relevant. There are many of us, we all came for the same reason. We came with the ambition to play, and the coach has a difficult job. I’m ready to help in any way I can, whether it’s playing for 5 minutes or being in the locker room.”
Needless to say, however, he is looking forward to his move to Real Madrid and will aim to be a starter under Jose Mourinho next season.
