Bernardo Silva is not considering a return to Portugal at this stage, despite his strong bond with Benfica.
According to A Bola, although Benfica have been touted as a destination and his Manchester City contract is in its final phase, there is no alignment for a comeback to the Estádio da Luz.
He is not receptive to returning, his aim is to remain in more competitive leagues where he can fight for titles and stay among Europe’s elite.
At 31, he believes he still has plenty to give and is seeking a new international challenge, with several clubs monitoring his situation, including Barcelona.
A reunion with Benfica could happen in the future, but for now it is completely off the immediate agenda.
This season for Manchester City, he has made 42 appearances, 30 in the Premier League, eight in the Champions League, three in the League Cup and one in the FA Cup, across 3,037 minutes, with three goals and five assists. He is valued at €27 million.
