Bernardo Silva says our fans will be absolutely key this coming season as City look to hit the heights once again.

The Blues finished the previous campaign extremely strongly as we earned a Champions League spot by clocking up seven wins and two draws over the last ten games to finish with a flourish.

Despite that, it was a season that failed to live up to expectations given our trophy-laden success over the Pep Guardiola era culminating with the Treble in 2022/23 and Four-in-a-Row Premier League titles in 2023/24.

Bernardo, one of our roster of skippers, is fully aware of the high expectations for this coming campaign and the importance of our supporters in driving the team forward.

City fans of both our men’s and women’s teams are set to descend upon the Joie Stadium tomorrow for the unique ‘City Are Back’ event, presented by Etihad Airways.

It aims to excite fans about the return of domestic football by offering them a chance to watch the two squads train, including seeing our signings in action for the first time.

Bernardo is looking forward to the event and the season that follows.

“Last season wasn’t what we wanted – that’s the same feeling for players as well as fans,” said Bernardo.

“But this coming season is a chance to turn the page and start again. We are really focused on improving and challenging for silverware again, something that is in the DNA of this club and this team.

“We kick off the new season with the open training session event with our fans and we’re all looking forward to it.

“Our supporters are so important to everything we do. Every game, the emotions we feel on the pitch, they feel too.

“We have had a great time together over many seasons now and we have shared these amazing moments together. We want more of them as we get ready for the new season.”

City Are Back will start at 12:30 (UK) and finish at 17:00 (UK). For those who cannot attend, the special event will also be live-streamed across our channels.

Tickets for the special event, which are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for Under 21s and Over 65s, are now on general sale, after a period of exclusive access for official members.

Four tickets can be claimed for each transaction, so fans can bring a friends or family members should they wish. Mobile tickets will be issued closer to the event.

Anyone who attends the event and buys a home, away or Club World Cup jersey on the day can enjoy free printing on their shirt by showing their ticket at the till. The offer is only available on the day at both the Etihad Stadium and Joie Stadium.
