Forced off due to injury during the 2026 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and South Africa, Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has sparked concern at his Turkish club, Beşiktaş.

According to a statement from the Istanbul club, Ndidi is suffering from a muscle strain with bleeding in the posterior thigh muscle (semimembranosus). He has already returned to Turkey to begin treatment:

Our player, who could not finish the match due to this injury, was immediately attended to upon his return. MRI scans confirmed the strain and hemorrhage, and our medical team immediately began treatment.

This absence could be a major blow for the Siyah-Beyazlı in the upcoming matches.
