Besiktas contact Flamengo over Léo Pereira interest | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Besiktas have made official contact with Flamengo to express interest in Léo Pereira and to ask about the terms to take him to Türkiye. The Rio club have not yet replied.

For now, Flamengo do not wish to part with any starters in Leonardo Jardim’s side. Pereira is a mainstay at centre-back and was in Brazil’s World Cup squad, though he did not feature under Carlo Ancelotti.

Besiktas are sounding out Flamengo’s position in the market before lodging a formal bid. The defender is on the list of newly appointed coach Vicenzo Italiano.

On Tuesday, Besiktas announced the signing of Belgian winger Leandro Trossard, formerly of Arsenal, for 18 million euros plus 2 million euros in performance bonuses.

Pereira joined Flamengo in 2020 and is under contract until the end of 2027. He has made 304 appearances, scored 18 goals, provided five assists and won 16 titles.
