Besiktas have enquired about the possibility of signing Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey this summer, according to transfer expert Matteo Moretto.
After netting 14 goals and assists apiece in a productive 2023/24 campaign, the Jamaican star failed to reach the same heights last season.
The 27-year-old’s form took a nose dive, marked by a barren run for larger spells. He managed only one goal in 24 games in the Premier League.
The impending arrival of Ivory Coast international Ivann Guessand at Villa Park has further fuelled Bailey’s exit speculations.
Villa are open to cashing in on the former Bayer Leverkusen star as manager Unai Emery no longer considers him in his plans.
The Spanish gaffer deployed Morgan Rogers as a right winger on several occasions last season when Bailey was going through a rough patch.
While Saudi Pro League clubs have been linked with Bailey, Besiktas are the latest club to show interest in the winger.
Besiktas are keeping pace with their Turkish rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce after completing the signings of Tammy Abraham and Orkun Kokcu while securing the permanent transfer of Joao Mario.
Bailey is seen as the final piece to complete their attack and help them compete for silverware in the upcoming season.
Villa are pushing to sell players to comply with UEFA’s PSR and avoid any further sanctions. Bailey is touted as the likely candidate to leave Villa Park and is valued at around £25 million.
Key figures like Ollie Watkins, Pau Torres and Rogers have also attracted interest from top clubs.
Meanwhile, the Villans are among the clubs monitoring Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
