Beşiktaş ‘have started’ negotiations with Nottingham Forest over January move

Ajansspor reports that Beşiktaş have begun negotiations with Nottingham Forest over a January move for James McAtee.

The Super League side, currently fifth, are said to see the 23-year-old midfielder as a potential replacement for Rafa Silva, who is expected to leave mid-season.

Club management are planning squad changes in the wake of Silva’s anticipated exit, despite McAtee only joining Forest in the summer in a £21m switch from Manchester City.

The attacking midfielder has struggled for minutes, making one Premier League start and four appearances from the bench, and he is yet to register a goal or an assist.

He has featured once and logged 66 minutes under Sean Dyche so far. It is not clear whether Beşiktaş are pursuing a loan or a permanent deal.
