Besiktas are leading the chase for Nuno Tavares after agreeing a loan with obligation to buy with Lazio, but the move remains unsealed, Il Messaggero reports.

The Istanbul club have settled on a €10 million clause that would become mandatory after a set number of appearances.

Tavares is not fully convinced by the switch and is holding out for Al-Ittihad, who showed interest without making a concrete offer. The left-back is said to be enticed by working under compatriot Sergio Conceicao.

Como have emerged as a third option. Cesc Fabregas did not deny their interest and indicated they are waiting for developments, while a deal is not close.

The Portuguese defender was placed on the transfer list after failing to convince Maurizio Sarri and losing his spot to Luca Pellegrini. Lazio have lined up Alfonso Pedraza to arrive in the summer as a free agent, and Tavares’ exit could clear the path for a January agreement with Villarreal.

Tavares enjoyed a productive first season in Rome under Marco Baroni before injuries disrupted his rhythm. This term he has no direct Serie A goal contributions, though he set up Mattia Zaccagni’s winner against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia.
