Beşiktaş have emerged as surprise candidates to end Lovre Kalinić’s nightmare at Aston Villa.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper was sent on loan to French side Toulouse in January.

Kalinić made four appearances, conceding four goals, for the Ligue 1 side before the season was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Croatia international joined the Villains from Gent in January 2019, but got off to a dreadful start by conceding eight goals in his first three games.

Beşiktaş are on the lookout for a new stopper after on loan Loris Karius returned to Liverpool last month.

Fotomaç report that the Turkish side have made a solid offer to Villa, but added that the Premier League club are not yet satisfied with the deal.

But with no future for Kalinić in Birmingham, and three years left on his Villa contract, it might not take to much more for Beşiktaş to get their man.
