Injured during the international break, Wilfred Ndidi has received more clarity about his health status. Besiktas released an official update on the nature of their player's injury this Thursday, September 11, 2025.

According to a statement published by the Turkish club on its official X account, the Nigerian midfielder is suffering from a "strain and bleeding in the posterior semimembranosus muscle of the thigh."

The Super Lig side, currently eleventh in the Turkish league, added that the player is being treated by the medical team in order to return to competition as quickly as possible.

The 28-year-old will not be on the team sheet for the fifth round of the Turkish championship this Saturday, September 13, against Istanbul BB.

Let’s recall that the former Foxes player was injured during the Super Eagles’ match against South Africa (1-1) last Tuesday, as part of the 8th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and was replaced by Christantus Uche in the 70th minute.
