Besiktas have added Dusan Vlahovic to their squad and have now been linked with a move for Arthur Melo from Juventus, with the midfielder remaining without a club.

Vlahovic was teammates with Arthur Melo at Juventus until this summer, and the pair could be reunited in Turkiye, with Tuttojuve revealing that Vincenzo Italiano wants to sign Arthur.

Besiktas Consider Arthur Move

Juventus have used Arthur during the pre-season as they look to ensure he remains fit, but the Bianconeri hope he finds a new club because he is not part of their plans for this campaign.

The men at the Allianz Stadium want Arthur to leave before the season becomes more serious, and the Brazilian is also keen to depart because he is not part of the manager’s plans. Besiktas could now provide a solution for both the player and Juventus.

Italiano also knows Arthur well, having previously worked with the midfielder during his loan spell at Fiorentina. Arthur played an important role for that team, and his experience could make him a useful addition to Besiktas if he moves to the Turkish top flight.

Arthur Could Become Important Player

The midfielder could become an important player for Besiktas if the move goes through, particularly given his previous experience in Serie A. A transfer to Turkiye could offer Arthur an opportunity to revive his career while giving Besiktas another experienced option in midfield.

For Juventus, the priority appears to be finding a solution that allows them to move Arthur on. The club do not have him in their plans, while the player is also interested in finding a new destination.

It remains to be seen how much Juventus will ask Besiktas to pay for Arthur. The Italian club could instead consider allowing him to leave for free, particularly if doing so would help them stop paying his wages.

A move to Besiktas would also reunite Arthur with Vlahovic, while giving Italiano the opportunity to work with a player he already knows. The coming days should reveal whether the Turkish club can reach an agreement with Juventus for the midfielder.
