Zuriko Davitashvili (24) is a January transfer target for Turkish club Beşiktaş, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Davitashvili impressed in Ligue 1 last season, despite AS Saint-Étienne’s swift return to Ligue 2. The Georgia international scored nine goals and registered eight assists in 34 games in all competitions, and he already has eight goals in 15 games in Ligue 2.
It is ASSE’s strong financial standing that allowed them to retain the forward (as well as another highly-coveted player, Lucas Stassin) over the summer. It leaves Les Verts in a strong position at the halfway mark of the Ligue 2 campaign. They currently sit second, five points behind leaders ESTAC Troyes.
But, as the January window prepares to open, ASSE are no longer opposed to a sale, and there is interest. Beşiktaş have identified the forward as a key target, whilst another unnamed club are in the mix. Davitashvili would be open to a move to the Turkish side and Saint-Étienne would be willing to listen to bids.
