Many current players and experts agree that Harry Kane is, without a doubt, one of the best players in the world. He has now received high praise from a player on the English national team.
Kane is currently representing England at the 2026 World Cup in North America. His record in the group stage: three games, three goals, and one major miss against Ghana. Nevertheless, Kane showed what he’s capable of.
And he has set a new record. With eleven World Cup goals to his name, he is now the Three Lions’ all-time leading scorer at World Cups, having surpassed Alan Shearer after previously tying his record against Croatia.
After the 2-0 victory over Panama, Jude Bellingham—who also scored a goal in that match—was particularly effusive in his praise of Kane.
“It’s an honor for me to play alongside him,” Bellingham began, before declaring, “To me, he’s the best England player of all time. He’s shown more than anyone else.”

England’s victory, largely thanks to Bellingham and Kane, secured the group title. The English team will now face the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Wednesday for a spot in the Round of 16. England certainly has a shot at going all the way, but overall, they still need to step up their game.
Kane, for example, had a rather lackluster performance in the second match against Ghana (0–0). But that’s no cause for concern for Bellingham. “We don’t doubt him, no matter how involved he is in the game or not,” Bellingham said, referring to that performance. He added, “He makes the difference, and he did that again today.”
The Bayern striker is clearly held in high regard within the Three Lions squad. And the English team will certainly continue to need his goals—that much is certain. Kane is the player who can make a difference not only in the penalty area but also outside of it with his clever passes.
