At the pre-match press conference, Thuram did not hold back his praise for his compatriot.

“Mbappe is the best player in the world right now. He’s having a sensational season. We all know what kind of player he is,” he said.

Belief in Juventus ahead of the big test

Despite Juventus’ inconsistent form in recent weeks, Thuram remains confident that his team can rise to the occasion against Real Madrid

His message was clear – fear has no place when facing a club of Madrid’s stature. “You can’t play with fear,” he asserted.

“We are confident, we believe in ourselves, and we just have to go out there and win. We are not afraid of anything.

“We know twe are going to play against a good team, but so are we. We are confident that we will get a good result,” he said.

Urging accountability and faith in the coach

Thuram also spoke openly about the team’s current situation, which has seen Juventus struggle with five draws and one defeat in their last six matches.

The Frenchman revealed that the players recently held internal talks to address their issues and refocus ahead of a crucial period in the season.

“We talked, we had a little meeting because it was important to talk about what was going on.

“We know we have a good coach and good players, we just have to figure out what’s going on and continue with the intention of improving every day,” he explained.

For Real Madrid, Juventus’ current form is a boon. The Serie A giants are winless since beating Inter 4-3 in mid-September, meaning that they can capitalise on the psychological front.
