The BBC have announced their five-woman shortlist for their Womenâs Footballer of the Year Awards for 2022.
England and Arsenal hero Beth Mead is one of the candidates after she helped her side to victory in this summerâs European Championships.
And despite having missed the tournament with an ACL tear, Barcelonaâs Alexia Putellas also makes the list for her outstanding performances over the course of the season.
On the list is Germanyâs Alexandra Popp, who also suffered heartbreak when she was ruled out of the Euro final with an injury sustained in the warmup. The 31-year-old had a huge impact on the tournament up until that point, scoring both of her sideâs goals in the semi-final.
Chelseaâs Sam Kerr is named as one of the five, having scored 29 goals in 31 appearances as the Blues retained the Womenâs Super League last season.
PSG star Wendie Renard was a rock at the heart of Franceâs defence this summer, and she completes the shortlist for those impressive performances.
