The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has succeeded in convincing Paris Saint-Germain’s young prodigy, Ibrahim Mbaye (2008), to represent the Lions of Teranga in upcoming international fixtures.
In a decision that surprised many, the 17-year-old has opted to wear Senegal’s colors over France, despite having come through all the youth ranks for Les Bleus.
Ibrahim Mbaye is expected to be called up for the friendly against Brazil, scheduled for November 15 at London’s Emirates Stadium.
According to sources close to Radio Monte-Carlo, the Senegalese Federation made major efforts to convince the player, who ultimately made his decision independently, guided by his roots and pride in his Senegalese heritage.
With PSG, Mbaye is already forging a promising path. He has featured in 25 matches across all competitions, including 13 this season, scoring once and providing two assists.
