Bianconere beat Inter to book Serie A Women’s Cup final spot | OneFootball

The Women’s First Team’s attempts to defend their Serie A Women’s Cup crown continue after their 1-0 win over Inter in the semi-final on Saturday evening. 

Tatiana Pinto got the game’s only goal in the first half, celebrating in Ana Capeta’s trademark fashion to send a clear message of support for her injured teammate.

THE MATCH REPORT

Things started slowly in Biella, and the first chances of the came fell the way of the visitors and, specifically, to Haley Bugeja, but her attempted centre from the right was well gathered by Larissa Rusek. 

Benedetta Glionna then tried her luck with ten minutes on the clock, before Alba Redondo and Remina Chiba looked to force things at the other end.

It was through Chiba that the breakthrough was found. She delivered a forner that Cecilia Runnarsdottir couldn’t deal with, and Pinto was on hand to pounce and turn it towards goal and in after deflecting off Samantha van Diemen.

Having stayed solid for the remainder of the first half, the Bianconere came out on the attack again after the break. Chiba came close to finding a second, but Runarsdottir did well to deny her.

Inter looked to level through Lina Magull then, but she wasn’t able to make the most of the space she found, and the Nerazzurre would struggle to carve out any other real chances. 

Emma Stolen Godo went close before Danique Noordman brought another save out of Runarsdottir, and the Bianconere were tight enough at the back to keep their visitors at an arm’s length. 

And so the Bianconere are back in the final for the second time in two seasons of the Serie A Women’s Cup. They’ll now await the winner of Sassuolo vs Roma in the final on Sunday, 19 September in Viareggio.
