Very disappointed by the result of the match despite being dominant (1-1), the Monegasques presented themselves in the mixed zone to try to analyze the scenario of the match.
They failed to get back to winning ways away from home. Despite having the best chances in this duel on Matchday 31 of Ligue 1, the Rouge et Blanc could do no better than draw against Le Havre (1-1). It was a disappointing result, that Mika Biereth and Philipp Köhn took the time to comment on in the mixed zone after the final whistle.Extracts 🎙️
Good evening, Mika. How do you explain this result?
Playing against a team fighting for survival in the top flight is difficult because they play deep. It’s therefore difficult to get around them in these conditions, and I have to say they played well today. Obviously, we weren’t sharp enough in the first half, so we came back from the locker room wanting to equalize. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get the three points, which is why we’re very disappointed tonight.
I agree with the coach; we didn't play at our best, with the level of intensity that requires. We weren't fast enough in our play to hope to play from behind. At halftime, we decided to put in a lot more energy, and that's what we did, but unfortunately too late.

Are you worried about the Champions League race?
No, not really, because I have confidence in our team and our qualities. Once again, we’re very disappointed tonight not to come away with three points, but we’ll try to win our last three matches.
We knew before kickoff that Nice and Strasbourg had won. But we weren't thinking about that, and we came to win. Unfortunately, the first half wasn't what we'd hoped for, as we lacked the energy and pace.
Pressure is part of football, and in this final sprint, every game is obviously crucial to secure a Champions League spot. Every detail counts, and they weren’t on our side in the first half, but I think we reacted well in the second half and we need to build on that for the next matches.
Good evening, Philipp. Did you feel any pressure before this match?
We knew before kickoff that Nice and Strasbourg had won. But we weren’t thinking about that, and we came to win. Unfortunately, the first half wasn’t what we’d hoped for, as we lacked the energy and pace. It was better after the break, and we need to build on that for the next three matches. We still have things under control, but from now on, we’ll have to start matches like we did in the second half today.
Do you think it wasn’t enough to make a difference in this race for the Champions League?
Obviously, when you only take two points from two matches in this final sprint, it’s not what we were hoping for. We need to win, but we still took this point, which could prove decisive at the end of the season. Now we have to analyze all of this and put in energy for 90 minutes, not just one half, because that’s not enough!
It's very different playing against the top teams who try to play and create chances. We knew that before the match, but we didn't find the solution today.
What difference does it make to play against a team that is fighting to stay up?
It’s very different than our matches against Nice or Marseille, because Le Havre were playing very deep, which made it difficult to find a breakthrough. And then unfortunately they managed to score on their first opportunity. It’s a shame for us, even if we managed to come back in the second half, unfortunately it wasn’t enough to score the second goal. It’s very different to play against the top teams who try to play and create chances. We knew that before the match, but we didn’t find the solution today.
Of course, we all are! Once again, we came to win, but we didn’t. The difficulty in winning away from home? It’s hard to explain. We know that all the games ahead of us at the end of the season are difficult, including at home. We have to focus on playing hard for 90 minutes to create as many chances as possible. Sometimes you also need a bit of luck to score a goal, but above all, we need to attack games hard.
