At home for a spot in the UEFA Europa League

Together, we can secure our place in the UEFA Europa League this Thursday, August 27th. The second leg of the play-off against Swedish champions Mjällby AIF kicks off at 19:00 CEST at our Red Bull Arena. Thanks to our away win on the Baltic coast, we go into the match with a 1-0 lead in the tie.

Not much has changed since the first leg at Strandvallen Stadium. Our Red Bulls had the weekend off after Rapid Vienna exercised their right to postpone the match. The Swedes also had a chance to relax and are now fully focused on the second leg.

Our first encounter was a fascinating one. Mjällby responded to our strong first half by creating several clear-cut chances before we secured the win with an own goal in stoppage time. The importance of a first-leg victory was already evident in the third qualifying round against Pafos FC, when our 1-0 win ultimately proved decisive.

Our Red Bulls will not be playing it safe, however. At home, they will be determined to set the tone and finally celebrate a win with their fans after four consecutive away matches – and what a win it would be!

As always, you can find all the essential information for your visit to the stadium in our matchday information. Tickets for the game are available online in our ticket shop.

The match will be broadcast in Austria on ServusTV and ServusTV On. Details about our international stream will follow shortly.

We're only halfway there, and we still have a tough task ahead of us in the second leg. Even though the result from the match in Sweden is satisfactory, there were a few things we need to improve on Thursday in Salzburg, and we will be working intensively on them leading up to the game. The team knows and agrees with this.

We now have a great opportunity to advance to the group stage of the UEFA Europa League. We certainly don't want to miss this chance. With the away win, we've put ourselves in a good position, but that's all. Mjällby have shown that they can cause us danger. That's why we want to put up a strong fight in Salzburg and demonstrate our qualities. It's clear that none of us are taking this match lightly, and we will do everything we can to advance
