Vanja Dragojevic has already been warned about what comes with facing Celtic after being told the Glasgow Derby is potentially the “biggest derby on earth”.

The midfielder only joined Rangers from Partizan this summer, but the magnitude of the fixture was made clear to him before he even arrived in Scotland.

And after the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final draw paired Celtic with Rangers at Ibrox, Dragojevic may not have long to wait for his first experience of the rivalry.

Speaking after Rangers’ 5-1 victory over St Mirren in the competition, the midfielder revealed just how highly the fixture had been talked up to him.

He said: “When I spoke with lots of players before I came here, everyone, like everyone said that this is like the biggest, maybe the biggest derby on earth, and the craziest one in a positive way.

“So I’m really happy that I have the privilege to be part of this and to maybe play, and we’ll see.”
