Billal Brahimi was announced on Monday as a Le Mans signing after terminating his Santos contract. The forward has agreed terms to 2028 with an option for one more year.
Brahimi previously played for Le Mans in 2020 to 2021, scoring 12 and assisting 10. Le Mans is owned by Outfield, which also owns Coritiba and lists Felipe Massa and Novak Djokovic as shareholders.
His termination was registered in the BID on Monday. Short of opportunities, he joined Estrela Amadora on loan in February until 30 June, with Santos covering his full salary during the spell.
For Santos, he played only 20 minutes, coming on in the 2-2 draw with Red Bull Bragantino at Cícero de Souza Marques in the 25th round of the Brasileirão on 28 September 2025. He was also an unused substitute against Grêmio, Ceará, Corinthians, Vitória, Botafogo, Fortaleza and Flamengo.
This year he was not named in any squad before the loan. Born in Beaumont-sur-Oise, France, he is 26 and holds dual nationality, having represented Algeria. As a youngster he was with Cergy Pontoise, Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, then Leixões and Middlesbrough.
He made his professional debut for the English club, then returned to France with spells at Reims, Le Mans, Angers, Nice, Stade Brestois 29 and Saint-Truiden in Belgium.
