According to Diario Do Peixe, Billal Brahimi’s contract termination with Santos was registered on CBF’s BID on Monday.
The forward had been on loan at Estrela Amadora in Portugal until 30 June, arranged in February due to limited opportunities, with Santos covering his wages during the spell.
Under the agreement, he was not due to rejoin the squad and the deal would end automatically once the loan expired.
He played only 20 minutes for Santos, coming on in the 2-2 draw with Red Bull Bragantino at Cícero de Souza Marques in the 25th round of the Brasileirão on 28 September 2025. He was an unused substitute against Grêmio, Ceará, Corinthians, Vitória, Botafogo, Fortaleza and Flamengo.
He had been offered to Santos after leaving Nice and was announced in September last year, a signing championed by football executive Alexandre Mattos.
This year he was not named in any matchday squad before his loan. Born in Beaumont-sur-Oise, he is 26 and represents Algeria.
In his youth he was with Cergy Pontoise and Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, then had spells at Leixões and Middlesbrough, where he made his senior debut. He later played in France for Reims, Le Mans, Angers, Nice and Stade Brestois 29, and spent last season on loan at Sint-Truiden in Belgium.
