That is according to Football Insider, which states that the Blues are prepared to offer a transfer package that could reach £6 million as they try to get a deal over the line.

It has been a very busy summer for the League One side so far, as the club tries to put together a squad that is more than good enough to get back into the Championship at the first time of asking.

The club has already made seven new signings this summer, with one of those being goalscorer Alfie May.

But it appears that Birmingham City manager Chris Davies is keen to add more firepower to his side as the club eyes a reunion with Stansfield.

Stansfield spent last season on loan at Birmingham City, which was the 21-year-old’s second loan spell away from Fulham.

The forward’s first came at Exeter City, as he scored nine goals in 36 League One appearances.

Stansfield impressed last season for the Blues, but it wasn’t enough to keep the club in the Championship.

However, Birmingham are now keen on reuniting with the forward this summer, as they eye even more transfers.

According to Football Insider, Birmingham have begun talks with Fulham over the permanent signing of the 21-year-old.

The report states that the League One side is willing to offer a package worth up to £6 million to get a deal completed for Stansfield.

The forward is under contract at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2027, but the report states that the Premier League side are open to letting the player leave.

Stansfield is seen as the next piece of the puzzle for Davies’ attacking plans, despite the club already signing May.

As previously stated, Stansfield spent the entire of last season on loan at Birmingham City.

It was a productive campaign for the striker on a personal level, as he played 43 times in the Championship, scoring 12 goals as well as contributing two assists.

The forward also played another four times for the Blues, as he played three FA Cup games, during which he scored once, and he also played in the EFL Cup once for Birmingham.

Before the 2023/24 season, Stansfield had only played twice in the Championship, with them being appearances off the bench for Fulham.

Jay Stansfield would be an exceptional signing for Birmingham City

If Birmingham City are able to get a permanent transfer over the line for Stansfield in this transfer window, then it would be an exceptional addition for the club.

The 21-year-old is a player who has been looked at by many clubs in recent seasons, and for Birmingham to be able to get a deal over the line and sign him while being in League One would be fantastic for the club.

Stansfield joining the club alongside May would make the Blues a force to be reckoned with this season, and there wouldn’t be many better attacks in the league than that.
