Birmingham City boss Chris Davies expects Ibrahim Osman to remain at Brighton despite the Blues’ efforts to bring the winger back to the club.

Osman spent time on loan at Birmingham last season and made a strong impression, but Davies believes the 21-year-old is now likely to stay with the Premier League club.

“Unless there’s some sort of surprise event that takes place, yeah, I think so,” Davies said when asked if Birmingham were set to miss out on Osman.

“I think it’s pretty obvious that we were really happy with the job he did for us. I’ve got a lot of time for the boy, I think he made a huge impact, to be honest, and we were really keen on finding a route.

“But fair play to the lad to go and do enough for a Premier League club like that, just to want to keep you there and everything says a lot.

“He’s just come on in the Premier League, played in the European competition so I don’t think he’s going to be going anywhere.”

Davies also admitted there could be movement around Marvin Ducksch before the transfer window closes.

“For us and for me, Marvin’s here, contributing every day, working hard every day and he’s one of our players of course,” Davies said.

“I think in the next week or, eight days or whatever it is, there’ll be a bit of activity in and out, and things will all become crystal clear in eight days’ time.”
