Jhon Solis has been backed to make a big impact at Birmingham City if he joins on a permanent basis in the summer.
Birmingham City have been aggressive in the transfer market over the past few years under their ambitious US owners.
After their record-breaking League One campaign, many observers thought Blues could record successive promotions under Chris Davies.
However, a top six finish seems a long shot for Birmingham, but that won’t change the approach going into the summer, as the club will once again look to strengthen the squad to ensure they are pushing for promotion in 12 months time.

Pleasingly for Blues, they won’t go into the window needing an overhaul. Instead, it will be about adding specific individuals that have the talent to help the club take the next step.
As well as that, decisions have to be made on the several loan players in the squad, with Jhon Solis among those to be part of Davies’ squad on a temporary basis.
The Colombian joined from Girona in the January window, and it has been reported that the move will become permanent for £6.9m if certain conditions are met.
Despite their big spending, that would still be a hefty outlay for a club in the second tier. Yet, when asked by FLW about the prospect of spending so much on Solis, Birmingham fan pundit Jason Moore was adamant it would be a shrewd investment for the club.
“Solis is quality. I think you can tell he has come from La Liga in the way he plays, as he is very comfortable with the ball at his feet. “There are also times you can tell he is only 21, as he can be raw, but he has absolute quality, and it’s what we needed. He is such a presence. He is big and athletic, and he can be difficult to get the ball off. “His decision making can get better, like knowing when to play and when to hoof it and get rid. I’m more than happy to sign Solis permanently, because he is quality right now, and he’s only going to get better as he learns, and he suits English football. “So, I’ve got no issue in paying £6.9m for him, and, realistically, you’re going to struggle to sign real, real, real quality, especially in the Championship. So, I’m fine with it, he has got things to learn, but he’s 21. He’ll be brilliant for us, and he’s only going to get better.”

Solis has been inconsistent for Blues after a very impressive start, but that’s what you would expect for a player who has arrived in January.
It was a massive change for him at a young age, as he is experiencing a new league, culture and language at a time when he was expected to make an instant impact.
So, you have to take that into consideration, and, given the circumstances, you would expect all connected to Blues to be pleased with the way the midfielder has settled.
As outlined above, perhaps the most exciting aspect about a deal for Solis is that it feels like he has levels to improve due to his age.
Therefore, you would imagine that Birmingham will want this deal to become permanent, whether that’s through the current conditions, or they have to negotiate again.
Either way, you would expect Solis to be a Blues player at the start of next season, and it would be no surprise if he became a key figure in the XI, as he will be used to the demands of the Championship and what the head coach expects from him.
