Bournemouth striker Daniel Jebbison is expected to remain at the club this summer in a blow to Birmingham City, Southampton, and Wrexham

AFC Bournemouth forward Daniel Jebbison is likely to remain with the Cherries this summer, in a big blow to the likes of Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Southampton and Wrexham, each of whom had registered an interest in the Canadian.

According to The Echo's Alexander Smith via X, Jebbison looks increasingly likely to remain with Bournemouth beyond the September 1st deadline, having impressed Marco Rose in pre-season.

This comes as the Cherries have agreed a deal to sell Turkish striker Enes Unal back to Getafe, leaving Rose with few options up top, as the German looks to pick up where Andoni Iraola left off.

Jebbison, 22, spent last season on loan with Preston North End in the Championship, scoring six and assisting twice in 38 Championship appearances for the Lilywhites.

The Canadian provided competition up top at Deepdale with the likes of Lewis Dobbin, Milutin Osmajic, and Michael Smith, with his all-round game impressing teams across the second tier.

Interest from the likes of Birmingham City, Southampton, and Wrexham emerged last Wednesday, according to the Bournemouth Echo, with the Championship trio interested in taking the forward on loan for the campaign.

Blackburn Rovers were also interested in Jebbison earlier on in the window, though now, the 22-year-old looks set to stay put on the South Coast and provide competition for the likes of Evanilson, Eli Junior Kroupi, and Alvaro Rodriguez.

With a move for Jebbison seemingly off the table, Birmingham and Southampton must explore other targets in their pursuits for attacking reinforcements.

Blues can boast the likes of August Priske, Luis Vazquez, and Marvin Ducksch in the centre-forward role, though with the latter having been linked with a return to Germany in recent weeks, Chris Davies identified Jebbison as a potential alternative.

Now, Birmingham look elsewhere for another option in case of Ducksch's departure, as will Southampton, despite the Saints having recently secured a loan deal for Manchester City striker Divin Mubama.

Mubama will provide strong competition for Jebbison's compatriot, Cyle Larin, up top at St Mary's, whilst his former Preston teammate Lewis Dobbin will give German boss Tonda Eckert another option in the final third.

The Saints have brought in the England youth international to fill the void left by Ross Stewart's departure, but Eckert doesn't seem to be done with finding alternate attacking options just yet.

Whilst Jebbison is expected to stay with Bournemouth, this does not necessarily mean that he will be receiving a lot of minutes for the Cherries.

Bournemouth have European football to contend with, and with Jebbison filling the homegrown quota, his presence in the squad becomes more valuable for Rose.

Displacing the likes of Evanilson, Kroupi, or Rodriguez in the Bournemouth squad will be an incredibly difficult task for Jebbison, but one that he will relish trying to take.
