The Blues boss has become the subject of criticism at various points of the season
Despite a prior upturn in form, Birmingham City have seen their chances of reaching the Championship play-off places at the end of the season take a major hit in the past week.
On February 21st, Blues recorded what many viewed as a 'statement' 2-1 success against Norwich City at Carrow Road. It was the first time the West Midlands side had taken three points from Carrow Road in 24 years against a Canaries side rejuvenated under Philippe Clement.
A seven-game unbeaten streak in the league had taken Birmingham to within just two points of fellow newly-promoted side Wrexham in sixth, but back-to-back defeats against Millwall and Middlesbrough since then has seen the aforementioned gap return to eight points with 11 matches to play.
Whilst it has been proven many times throughout recent history that such a gap isn't entirely insurmountable, Chris Davies' comments after the 3-1 loss to Boro at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park highlighted that it would take yet another sustained and remarkable run for his side to reach the top six.
Davies' tenure in B9 has been extremely mixed in what is still his first full-time managerial role.
Yet, despite being the manager who oversaw a record-breaking League One campaign last term, which included the accumulation of 111 points, it has been widely debated as to whether he will be the man to elevate Blues to further on-pitch levels, in order to match Knighthead's lofty ambitions.

Davies has seen his job come under threat at various points of the season, but has always retained the support of owner, Tom Wagner, in order to turn around fortunes.
The 40-year-old was, once again, heavily backed in the winter transfer window as six new faces were added to the squad, as well as turning Patrick Roberts' loan move from Sunderland into a permanent deal.
However, Football League World's Birmingham City fan pundit, Jason Moore, believes the former Tottenham Hotspur assistant isn't the man to lead Blues into the future amid their Premier League ambitions, claiming that his tactics are a clear sticking point.
"Is Chris Davies the right man to take us forward? No. I don't think he is, if I'm being honest," he said.
"He will look after the finer details of what his system and setup is, but I don't think he's tactically good enough to 'outcoach' other managers in the Championship, never mind the Premier League.
"I don't think he's the man to take us forward. Personally, with the investment this squad has had and the money he's had to spend - I get there's some players who have had to get used to the league, and you could have the recruitment 'argument' - but this squad is better than Millwall's, Hull's and Wrexham's. For me, he's failed big time," Moore explained.
"He's a manager with one idea, and if it doesn't work, he does like-for-like subs and has no idea of a 'plan B'.
"Chris Davies, for me, is not the man for us long-term," he added.
"Personally, I'd not be surprised to see them (the owners) pull the plug on him in the summer, because we are not getting in the play-offs this season."

As previously mentioned, Blues do still have a slim chance of regaining ground on the top six, but it would take a remarkable effort from this point.
From their previous nine encounters against sides currently in the top six, they have only won two, both coming against Coventry City and Millwall at St. Andrew's, whilst they still have to face off against the likes of Hull, Wrexham, Derby County, Bristol City and Preston North End in the coming weeks.
The factor of investment has certainly put the spotlight on Blues and the pressure on Davies to deliver imminent success, and if a play-off berth cannot be achieved in the final two months of the season, the hierarchy could well be weighing up yet another managerial change.
