Birmingham beat Norwich City 2-1 at Carrow Road, climbing from 11th to seventh in the Championship after an early two-goal burst proved decisive.
Carlos Vicente struck in the fifth minute from Bright Osayi-Samuel's low pass, before Marvin Ducksch doubled the lead (14.) after August Priske's assist.
James Beadle made eight saves as Birmingham held firm. The goalkeeper denied Mohamed Touré either side of half-time and claimed high balls to relieve pressure.
After Paris Maghoma came on at the break, the Canaries built momentum and Kenny McLean rifled home from the centre of the box (67.) following Touré's lay-off. Mathias Kvistgaarden then drew further stops from Beadle.
Six minutes of second half stoppage time were indicated and Birmingham saw it out, with Ibrahim Osman winning late free-kicks to ease the strain.
The Canaries had 61.6% possession and 18 attempts, striking the post through Touré. Birmingham registered nine attempts and made 34 clearances, with five efforts on target.
Norwich drop from 17th to 18th. Next, the Canaries host Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship. Birmingham visit Millwall next.
