Bittencourt highly unlikely to feature for Werder Bremen again

Much suggets that Leonardo Bittencourt has played his last game for Werder Bremen.

It has already been confirmed that the 32-year-old will leave the club after seven seasons when his contract expires this summer.

And as Werder coach Daniel Thioune revealed at his press conference ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga game against Hoffenheim, Bittencourt is unlikely to play for the club again due to a thigh injury.

“There was another more detailed examination. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible that he will return to training next week. Therefore, a return to the squad on the final matchday against Borussia Dortmund would also not be possible,” Thioune said.

Bittencourt has made a total of 188 appearances for the Green-Whites, scoring 20 goals and providing 16 assists.
