BLACK, GOLD AND THE STARS OF EUROPEAN NIGHTS ON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GAME SET DESIGNED FOR BOLOGNA FC 1909 BY MACRON | OneFootball

BOLOGNA, 1 October 2024 – In the run-up to their second match in Europe, Bologna FC 1909 has presented a new Champions League Game Set designed by Macron, the club’s historic technical sponsor. Vincenzo Italiano’s team will wear the new kit for the momentous match scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday 2 October, against Liverpool FC at Anfield.

Bologna FC 1909 will take to one of the most iconic pitches in European football wearing a kit that combines an elegant choice of colours with the technical innovation typical of all Macron teamwear. Black enriched by gold details and the club’s traditional red and blue celebrate Bologna’s return to top-level European football. The new Champions League Game Set, just alike all the kits that Macron designs for its partner clubs, is made exclusively from Eco Fabric, a material obtained entirely from recycled post-consumer plastic.

Bologna FC’s 2024/25 Champions League Game Set is in total black with a knitted crew neck and sleeve cuffs in red and blue surrounded by two gold lines. The choice of black as a colour is a tribute to the return of “Champions League Nights” to Bologna. The reference is made even more explicit by gold details and most of all by the graphics that cover the shirt. The front and back of the shirt are decorated by rows of small embossed stars recalling the symbol of Europe’s most important club competition. Also in gold is the Macron Hero on the right of the chest. The badge of Bologna FC 1909 appears on the left. Both are silicone printed.

The inside neck label is customised with the colours of the club and the words “È TORNATO LO SQUADRON” (the great team is back) in gold. This refers to the “Squadrone che tremare il mondo fa” (the great team that makes the world tremble) – the Bologna team of the 1930s that dominated Italian and European football, winning four Italian championships, two Central European Cups and the prestigious Paris Exposition Tournament. The label is completed by the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and produced at the Macron Campus, only a few minutes away from the club’s training ground in Casteldebole.

The external backneck is decorated with the Italian flag, above which the club’s motto “WE ARE ONE” is printed in gold. A gold band enriches the bottom of the shirt back. The black shorts repeat the same graphics as the shirt, with rows of relief stars and red, blue and gold inserts in the sides and at the back of the leg bottoms. The socks are black with the word ‘BOLOGNA’ and the Macron Hero in gold at the front and, in the middle of the calf, a horizontal band of red and blue bordered by two fine gold lines.

The new Bologna FC Champions League shirt is a Slim Fit garment made entirely from Eco Fabric, more specifically Eco Softlock, with an Eco Micromesh panel in the back to reduce weight and improve breathability.
