Having only avoided relegation to League One on the final day of the previous campaign, there may have been some nerves around the club before the action got underway.

So far though, things have generally been positive for John Eustace's side, with an improvement in results and performances meaning they are in the mix for the play-offs in the early standings.

Much of that success that Blackburn have enjoyed so far this campaign, has come on home soil at Ewood Park.

Last season, home form was something of a problem for Rovers as they battled to stay clear of the bottom three.

Across the whole of the 2023/24 campaign, the club won just six of their 23 league games at Ewood Park.

This time round though, things have been different, with Blackburn winning all four Championship games they have played on home soil since the start of the campaign.

That has been a big factor in their early season success, accounting for 12 of the points they have amassed so far this season.

As a result, the 2-1 defeat at home to League One side Blackpool in the second round of the Carabao Cup, with a much changed side, is not going to be a huge concern.

But just which games have attracted the most interest in terms of spectator viewing at Ewood Park so far this season?

Here, we've taken a look at the attendance figures for every Blackburn Rovers home game so far this season, according to Transfermarkt, in order to help find out.

5 Blackburn 1-2 Blackpool

Perhaps not surprisingly, given it was a midweek cup tie against lower league opposition, that clash with Blackpool has the lowest attendance of the five games played at Ewood Park this season.

In total, 9,418 fans attended that match, which Rovers led thanks to Makhtar Gueye's penalty, before the visitors turned things around with two goals in five second-half minutes to go through.

Next up with the fourth-highest attendance this season, is the 2-0 victory over QPR, which brought in 13,789 spectators on the 28th September.

Given the game kicked off at 12:30pm on a Saturday afternoon due to Sky Sports coverage, it is perhaps not a surprise that this did not attract as many fans as other league games.

After Jonathan Varane had been send off for the hosts on the stroke of half-time, second half goals from Lewis Travis and Danny Batth secured all three points for Blackburn.

3 Blackburn 3-0 Bristol City

Ahead of that, the Blackburn home game with the second-most spectators this season, was the 2-1 win over Oxford United on 24th August.

A stunning Mark Harris strike put last season's League One play-off winners ahead in the 44th minute, only for Joe Rankin-Costello to equalise in first-half stoppage time.

Substitute Arnor Sigurdsson than produced an excellent finish of his own in the final ten minutes, to give the hosts the win in front of 14,769 spectators.

All of that means that the opening day clash with Derby County, played in front of the Sky Sports cameras, is the highest attended Blackburn home game so far this season.

Aided by a big away following from the Rams in their first game back in the Championship after promotion from League One, a total of 17,975 fans watched this match.

Tyrhys Dolan's early strike had Rovers 1-0 up at half-time, before Curtis Nelson equalised for the visitors midway through the second-half.

However, goals from Andi Weimann, Sammie Szmodics - his last in the league for the club before joining Ipswich - and Ohashi put the hosts out of sight.

Blackburn began the season with a 4-2 win at Ewood Park.
