Tyrhys Dolan departed Blackburn Rovers last summer for a move to Espanyol
Ryan Hedges, Aynsley Pears and Sondre Tronstad have all reacted to Tyrhys Dolan celebrating his first goal for Espanyol following his exit from Blackburn Rovers last summer.
The forward was a key part of Valerien Ismael’s side when he departed at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, leaving the club as a free agent.
The 24-year-old made 44 appearances from 46 league fixtures in his final year at Ewood Park, contributing seven goals and six assists as the side narrowly missed out on a play-off place, finishing seventh in the table.
Dolan made the move away from English football, signing for Espanyol in La Liga, where he has been a consistent presence in the side this season.
He’s made 23 appearances in the Spanish top flight, and it was in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo where he scored his long-awaited first goal for the club.

Dolan has posted a message on social media to commemorate his first goal for his new club.
The winger thanked the fans for their support, and he is hopeful that this will now be the first of many instances where he finds the back of the net.
“Bittersweet not to take all three points, but so happy to score my first goal for this special club,” wrote Dolan, via Instagram.
“Hopefully more to come from this moment.
“Thank you for the amazing support.”
Hedges, Pears and Tronstad have all congratulated Dolan for the achievement, showing support for their former Blackburn teammate.
Hedges posted the praise hands emoji and a blue heart, while Pears responded with two red hearts and a clapping hands emoji.
“Yeeessss youuuu,” wrote Tronstad in reply.
The trio will all be hoping to keep Blackburn in the Championship in the final months of the season, with the team sat 19th in the table.
Michael O’Neill won his first game in charge at the weekend, overseeing a 3-1 victory against QPR at Loftus Road.
His first home game as Rovers boss will come on 20 February against Preston North End in an 8pm kick-off.

Dolan has taken longer to get his first goal for Espanyol than he might have liked, or would’ve been expected by Blackburn supporters.
But it is evident that he is missed both on and off the pitch at Ewood Park, particularly given this reaction from his former teammates.
The team have struggled a lot this season with his absence, and it is his kind of potent attacking threat in the Championship that’s been missing.
