Ryan Alebiosu is a wanted man ahead of the February 2 transfer deadline
Blackburn Rovers are facing a battle to keep hold of one of their star players ahead of Monday's transfer deadline, with an offer turned down from a top flight European club.
Valerien Ismael's side are in a Championship relegation battle with a few months left of the season, and the last thing he will want to be doing is losing one of his key men with just two days remaining until the window slams shut.
And whilst the Frenchman looks to add to his attacking unit, with Bailey Cadamarteri, Dapo Afolayan and Tawanda Maswanhise all linked to Ewood Park, one club who are set to land a windfall are looking to re-invest with a move for a Rovers defender.

As reported by Pete O'Rourke, one of Blackburn's star players from the 2025-26 season so far, Ryan Alebiosu, has been the subject of a transfer offer from Serie A outfit Genoa.
Genoa, whose 3-2 defeat at Lazio on Friday night left them 13th out of 18 teams in Italy's top flight, are seeking a successor for ex-Arsenal defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who is on the verge of a move to Inter Milan with advanced talks taking place.
Alebiosu has now been lined up as Norton-Cuffy's replacement, with a €5 million (£4.3 million) bid being submitted by Genoa for the newly-capped Nigeria international's services, having made his Super Eagles bow in the African Cup of Nations.
Blackburn however have turned down Genoa's initial advances for the 24-year-old's services, having only arrived in Lancashire from Belgian club Kortrijk in the summer for a fee in the region of £500,000, as reported by the Lancashire Telegraph, penning a three-year contract at Ewood Park.
Rovers could potentially make a big profit on Alebiosu before Monday's deadline, with ESPN claiming earlier on in the window that Everton, Wolfsburg and Sassuolo - as well as Genoa - were interested in landing the Arsenal academy graduate.

Tensions have already been rising this month at Ewood Park on the terraces, with Blackburn fans frustrated at the management of the club beyond Ismael - more aiming their ire at Rudy Gestede and Suhail Pasha - the Venky's representative in the UK.
And whilst the club are still looking to strengthen in attack, losing arguably their star man this season in Alebiosu would be a disaster - even if it meant making significant profit.
With Rovers in a relegation battle and fighting for their Championship survival, losing Alebiosu this late in the window would not go down well with the fans whatsoever - but could their hand be forced should bigger offers arrive?
