Blackburn Rovers host Coventry City in the Championship at Ewood Park on Friday, 17 April 2026, with the leaders chasing promotion and the hosts looking to pull further clear of the relegation places.

Coventry arrive top on 85 points, while Blackburn sit 20th with 48. The reverse fixture finished 2-0 to Coventry in October, and the last two meetings at Ewood Park ended level: 0-0 in 2024 and 1-1 in 2023.

Rovers have taken three draws in their past five league games, including two goalless stalemates, but lost 3-0 at Southampton last time out. Coventry are unbeaten in four since losing to Southampton, with wins over Swansea City and Derby County followed by 0-0 draws at Hull City and against Sheffield Wednesday.

Blackburn list Scott Wharton, Hayden Carter, Todd Cantwell and Lewis Miller among several injuries. Coventry are without Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, goalkeeper Oliver Dovin and defender Miguel Ángel Brau.

Frank Lampard's side have scored 84 league goals at two per game and kept 16 clean sheets. Haji Wright leads their line with 16 league goals, supported by Brandon Thomas-Asante and Ellis Simms, while Milan van Ewijk has eight assists. Michael O'Neill's team average 0.9 goals per game but carry an aerial threat with 10 headed goals, and Ryoya Morishita has supplied eight assists. Wide service and crosses could decide the game.

A home win would move Blackburn to 51 points and could push them further from the relegation places. Victory for Coventry would take them to 88 points and strengthen their grip on the automatic promotion spots at the top.
