Fulham are reportedly no longer exploring a move for Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Garcia, per reputed journalist Nizaar Kinsella.
Manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear he doesn’t want to part with the 22-year-old this summer.
Garcia has emerged as one of the best talents to come out of Madrid’s youth academy.
He made his competitive debut in 2023 and enjoyed a breakout season in 2025-26, making 39 appearances across all competitions.
Although most of those appearances came off the bench, the Spaniard impressed with his performances, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
Garcia would want more game time this campaign, but that doesn’t look likely with Kylian Mbappe as Mourinho’s first-choice striker.
Fulham are desperate to bolster their attack after the departures of Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez on free transfers.
Wilson and Jimenez scored 19 Premier League goals between them last season as the Cottagers finished 11th in the table.
Their newly-appointed boss Alvaro Arbeloa wanted a reunion with Garcia, having managed the player during his time in Madrid.
But Fulham will now have to look at alternatives, with the La Liga giants intent on keeping their forward.
The West Londoners have made a slow start to the summer transfer window.
They have yet to add a single new player after confirming the permanent signing of Jonah Kusi-Asare from Bayern Munich.
