L'Équipe reports that BlueCo, owners of Chelsea and Strasbourg, are in advanced talks with River Plate over a long-term partnership.
The 18-month loan of Kendry Paez from Chelsea to River Plate had hinted at a broader arrangement, which is understood to be close to agreement.
The proposed tie-up would enable player sales and loans across the three organisations, particularly at youth level. River would receive priority on selected loans, while Chelsea would be able to review any River sale and could match the fee.
Ian Subiabre could be the first of several deals between the Argentine side and the London club, who have Enzo Fernandez, while Strasbourg have Joaquin Panichelli, both former River players.
A joint scouting operation is also envisaged. River previously explored a similar agreement with City Group, which ultimately did not materialise.
